CEO and co-founder, Rodney Valentine brings various managerial, communication and leadership skills. His past experience as a Business Operations Assistant for Shaw Communications, a DirecTV subcontractor, is of incredible value to VAS Concepts. While at Shaw Communications, Mr. Valentine was able to gain real world perspective on the dynamics of business operations. He also served as an IT Data Backup Recovery Technician at Chase Manhattan Bank. Mr. Valentine is a graduate of Howard University with a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Management, which is focused towards media advertisement sales and a minor in Economics. His leadership and management skills were exhibited when he managed and produced a Beauty pageant, titled Queen of New York City.
COO and co-founder, Jonathan Sutton provides the executive team with distinctive leadership and communication skills. He also has past experience in government relations and state legislation. Mr. Sutton is currently a Legislative Aide for Delegate Herman Taylor of the Maryland General Assembly. While serving in the Maryland House of Delegates, he focused on managing legislation and facilitating community affairs. In the past he has also assisted Radius Technology group, a small information technology firm with procurement outreach. Mr. Sutton is a graduate from the University of Virginia with a B.A in Political Science. While at the university he served as the Assistant Head Manager of Men’s Basketball for Virginia Athletics. He is a Brooklyn, New York native and currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland.
CTO and co-founder, Laplie Anderson graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Mr. Anderson has spent the majority of his career investigating and developing new technologies. While at IBM's Advanced Technology Group, he developed Semantic Web prototypes involving collaborative spreadsheet integration, Internet mashups, and enterprise data management. Currently working as a Software Engineer for Lime Brokerage, LLC, Laplie is developing a web accessible extension to Lime Brokerage's real-time trading platform. Laplie Anderson brings a broad array of technical expertise and industry experience to the VAS Concepts team.
CMO, Jasmine Gordon received an MBA with a specialization in Entrepreneurial Studies from Pace University and a Bachelor's of Science degree from Temple University's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Ms. Gordon has various marketing experience within service industries and startup companies. She served as co- Site Director for a startup youth basketball league, the Manhasset All-stars and also worked for The NY Knicks Marketing department. Previously, Ms. Gordon was employed as a Marketing Associate for Job Thread Inc., a startup online job recruitment company and Office Manager for Harvest Home, a startup nonprofit organization. Ms. Gordon also has sales experience and a stellar academic background that has taught her vital managerial skills within the service industry.
VAS Concepts will recruit a CFO with 5-10 years of financial analysis and accounting experience. In the interim financial and accounting responsibilities will be outsourced.
